During 1998 and 1999, Cool Radio Ltd started 2 restricted licence broadcasts in the town of Kendal (Gateway to the Lake District) under the names of KCR107 and Lakes FM.
On 31st December 1998, our late night presenter Peter Brown (a.k.a. The Night Owl) presented this special show with Roger (a.k.a. Dr Cool).. We mixed our own eclectic selections of soul, blues, rock & jazz for nearly 2 hours of banter and great sounds. We will be including more ‘Night Owl’ shows over the coming weeks.
This program includes tracks by Bobby Bland, Etta James, Solomon Burke, Dion, Ian Dury and many more. We surprised each other with our selections as we did not rehearse the show. I should point out that the shows were recorded onto video tape and sometimes the quality isn’t too good. However, we hope you enjoy it as much as our listeners and ourselves did.
